Story Weekend

The Story Weekend is an opportunity to dive deeper into your own personal story. Each of us has so much to unpack and examine in our lives, yet we so rarely dignify our lives with the honor of having our story written and heard. The act of sharing our stories is healing and unburdening. Many of us have unpacked part of our lives history at GE but likely there is so much that still went unsaid. We will learn more about how to unpack and how to process, grieve, and find some new meaning from the paths we have walked. Come and walk with others through this sacred ground of the stories of our lives. We will have an introduction lecture then we will write a 600-900 word story from our lives that we’d like to be told. After reading and processing the stories in small groups. We will break for some fun and celebration at Les Bourgeois (optional). We will be at the Smart’s Hill Side Retreat Center in Prairie Home, MO. We hope you can join us for this life-changing day. 

Cost: $20 for lunch and gift for High hill for hosting the event. Dinner is your own cost.

8:30 Welcome and Coffee

9am-10:30 Start Lecture Introduction to Story Teaching

10:30-12 Personal Story Writing 

12-1pm  Lunch 

1-5 pm 1 hour each for reading and processing your story, Break between each story

5 pm Pray and prepare to depart for dinner

5:40 pm Optional dinner at Les Bourgeois, depart for home when ready

What to Bring

Bring a notebook with several sheets of paper and a pen. There will be places to be inside or outside, so dress appropriately.
