About The Event
GE:Belong will focus on developing relational skills through connecting with one another. Studies demonstrate that there are many relational skills that cannot be merely taught through lectures alone. They need to be caught by interpersonal experience. So there will be some focused teaching on what we will cover and many exercises where we develop greater skills and habits. Love is the greatest commandment of all and is the key to transformation. We are transformed when we connect with God and with one another.
We will be working on such things as: returning to peace after strong emotions, repairing relationship ruptures, developing belonging, sensing overwhelm, creating joy in relationship, finding relationship traps, understanding others, quieting, Immanuel Prayer, developing mindsight, developing Godsight, and more. It will all be presented from a Biblical perspective with fresh insights into what is going on in our minds as well. Developing our capacity to love should be the focus of our lives.
It is open to everyone, even those who have not gone through GE. It will not be dealing with past traumas (though I am sure people will talk about that but the exercises are not focused on that), but more with present relational skills and realties. I feel it is great for all of us who have been through GE to work on these skills.
GE:Belong began Sept 6th and go every other week.
We will be working through this book and doing exercises.
